I started this as a student who was tired of studying the hard way. I called it Pluggklar, from plugga, the Swedish word for studying. It was honest, it was ours, and for a long time it was exactly right.
Then something I did not fully plan for happened. Students outside Sweden started showing up. First close by, then further out, then people in places where nobody has ever heard the word plugga. And every time one of them landed on a name they could not read or say out loud, I felt the same small thing. This name is holding us back.
So we are changing it. Pluggklar is now plue.
Here is the part that matters most, so I will say it first. It is the same app. The same account, the same sets, the same streak, the same people building it. Nothing you have made goes away. If you are logged in right now, you will not lose a single flashcard. The only thing that changes is the name on the door.
Why plue. I wanted something short, something you can say in any language, something that does not belong to one country. The name plue keeps the sound of what we started with and drops the part that only worked in Swedish. You can find us at joinplue.com.
I will be honest with you. Renaming something you love is scary. Pluggklar is the name I wrote on my first pitch, the name that won our first competitions, the name people typed when they told a friend. Letting it go took me a while. But I did not build this to be a Swedish app. I built it to help people learn, wherever they are, and the name should say that too.
If you have been here since the early days, thank you. You showed up for Pluggklar, and I hope you stay for plue. Same promise, just one the whole world can read.
