1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account on plue ("the service") you agree to these terms of use and our privacy policy. If you do not accept the terms, do not use the service. These terms constitute a binding agreement between you and Plue AB.
2. Service description
plue is an AI-powered study platform for students. The service offers:
- AI assistant with explanations tuned to curriculum standards
- Automatically generated flashcards, quizzes, and summaries
- Lecture recording with automatic transcription
- AI assessment against curriculum grading criteria
- OCR and image analysis of notes and documents
- Study planning and exam prep
- Spaced repetition for long-term retention
3. Account and age requirements
Minimum age: You must be at least 13 years old to use plue.
Under 16: Parental or guardian consent is required (GDPR Art. 8).
Under 18: We recommend having parental or guardian approval.
Account security: You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for all activity on your account.
Personal account: The account is personal and may not be shared.
4. Subscriptions and payment
Free: Limited features at no cost.
Pro (~$9.99/month): Unlimited AI interactions, more recordings, and features. Closed to new sign-ups.
Max (~$19.99/month): All features without limits.
Payment: Handled via Stripe. We never store card or bank details.
Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription at any time.
Auto-renewal: Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled.
Refunds: 14-day cooling-off on all new subscriptions and annual renewals per the Swedish Distance Contracts Act. Annual renewals are automatically refunded within 48 hours if you cancel within 14 days and have not used the AI features in the prior 30 days. See /aterbetalning for the full policy.
Price changes: We notify you of price changes at least 30 days in advance by email.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Share your account with others
- Use the service for cheating, plagiarism, or academic dishonesty
- Upload illegal, threatening, abusive, or offensive content
- Attempt to bypass security, limits, or payment requirements
- Use automated tools (bots, scraping) against the service
- Sell or redistribute content from the service commercially
- Distribute malware, viruses, or other harmful code through the service
We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these rules without warning.
6. AI-generated content
Accuracy: AI-generated content can contain errors. Always verify important information, especially for exams and submissions.
Ownership: You own your notes, uploads, and recordings. AI-generated content based on your material belongs to you for personal use.
Responsibility: You are responsible for how you use AI-generated content in schoolwork and other contexts.
Limitation: plue is a study tool, not a substitute for instruction or professional advice.
7. Lecture recording and third-party voices
When you use the recording feature, other people's voices may be captured, such as your teacher or classmates. Before you start a recording you confirm that you have permission from everyone whose voice may be captured. By continuing you warrant that you hold that permission.
Your responsibility: You are responsible for following local rules and school rules on recording. If someone whose voice was captured asks you to delete the recording, do so via Settings in the app.
Third-party request: A person whose voice was captured can request deletion directly from plue through our contact form. We delete the affected audio within 30 days of a confirmed request.
Automatic deletion: The audio files from a recording are deleted automatically after 30 days. The transcript and your notes remain as long as you keep the recording.
8. Intellectual property
plue's brand, design, codebase, and other IP belong to Plue AB.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the service without written permission.
9. Account deletion
You can delete your account at any time via Settings in the app or by contacting us.
On deletion, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days.
Any active subscription is canceled. Deletion cannot be undone.
10. Service availability
We aim for high availability but cannot guarantee 100% uptime. We reserve the right to:
- Perform planned maintenance (notified in advance for longer outages)
- Update, change, or remove features
- Temporarily restrict access during technical issues
- Discontinue the service entirely with 90 days' notice
11. Limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is". We are not liable for:
- Study results or academic performance
- Incorrect information in AI-generated content
- Data loss due to technical issues (beyond what the law requires)
- Service outages or feature failures
- Indirect damages, lost profits, or consequential damages
Our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you have paid for the service in the past 12 months.
12. Changes to the terms
We may update these terms. Material changes are communicated at least 30 days in advance by email or in the app.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Swedish law. Disputes are resolved first through negotiation, otherwise before Swedish general courts. Consumers also have the right to escalate to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN) or their local consumer authority.
